Our methodology
PracticeVendors lists medical billing, credentialing and coding companies so practices can compare them in one place. This page explains where listing information comes from, what each badge means, how reviews work and how companies are ordered. If something here does not match what you see on the site, email info@practicevendors.com.
Where listing information comes from
New listings start from the company’s own public website. We record only what the company says about itself there, such as services, specialties, states covered, EHR systems and founding year, and we leave a field empty when the site does not say it clearly. We do not guess team sizes, prices or client counts.
Once a company claims its listing, its own team can add and update details. Every change is reviewed by us before it goes live. Each profile shows the date it was last updated and says whether the information came from the public website or from the company.
What the badges mean
| Badge | What it means | What we checked |
|---|---|---|
| Unclaimed | Nobody from the company manages this listing yet. | The company’s public website. |
| Claimed | Someone who works at the company manages the listing. | They signed up with an email address on the company’s own domain and we confirmed the request. |
| Verified 2026 | We checked that the business is real and that its main profile claims hold up. | Business registration in state records, a working business phone and address, ownership of the website, and documents for any certification shown on the profile. |
Verification is dated and renewed every year, which is why the seal shows the year. It is not a security audit and it is not HIPAA certification. A Verified badge says the company is who it says it is. It does not say the company will be a good fit for your practice.
We never show certifications such as HIPAA, SOC 2 or HITRUST as badges unless the company has sent us proof, and we link to the issuing body where we can.
How reviews work
- Every review is email-confirmed. The reviewer has to click a link we send before the review goes any further.
- Every review is read by a person before it is published. We remove patient information, personal attacks and reviews that are clearly not from a client.
- Employees cannot review their own company. Reviews from an email address on the company’s domain are blocked, and so are duplicate reviews.
- Invited reviews are labeled. Companies can send their clients a review link. Reviews that come through that link carry an “Invited by the vendor” label, so you can see which ones were asked for.
- Companies cannot pay to remove or edit reviews. They can post one public reply under each review.
- Star ratings appear only after three published reviews. One or two reviews say too little, so until then we show “No reviews yet” or the reviews themselves without an average.
How companies are ordered
By default, verified companies are shown first, then everyone else in alphabetical order. You can also sort by most recently reviewed or A to Z. Paid placements are always labeled “Sponsored” or “Featured”. Paying never changes the badge a company gets, its reviews or its place in the default order.
How we make money
PracticeVendors is free for practices. Companies can list themselves and claim their listing for free. We earn money when companies buy a paid plan for extra visibility, which is always labeled, or pay to receive quote requests from practices who asked to be contacted. The full rules are in our advertising disclosure.
Corrections
If a listing is wrong, use “Report an issue” at the bottom of the profile or email info@practicevendors.com. We fix factual errors within 3 business days once we can confirm them. Companies that claim their listing can correct it themselves.
