Trust and Data
Practices use PracticeVendors to research companies they may trust with their revenue. That only works if you can trust us first. This page explains, in plain terms, what we collect, what we never ask for, how listings and reviews are handled, and what we do not claim.
We Never Need Patient Information
Matching a practice with a billing, credentialing or coding company takes business details only: specialty, state, number of providers, your EHR and what you need help with. None of our forms ask for patient names, dates of birth, claim details or any other protected health information (PHI). Please do not send it. If you include it by mistake, tell us and we will delete it.
What We Collect and Who Sees It
| When you | We collect | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Request quotes or a match | Practice details, your name, business email and phone | Our team, and the companies you chose or that fit your needs. Requests are deleted automatically after 180 days. |
| Write a review | Your ratings and comments, practice details, and your email to confirm the review | The review is public after a person approves it. Your email is never shown. |
| Claim or add a company listing | Your name, work email and phone | Our team only, to confirm you work at the company. |
We do not use advertising trackers or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell personal information to data brokers. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
How Listings Earn Their Status
- Unclaimed: built from the company’s own public website. The company has not confirmed it.
- Claimed: someone who works at the company manages the listing. We confirm this through their company email.
- Verified: we checked that the business is real and that its main profile claims hold up. Verification is based on evidence and renewed every year.
No status can be bought. Paid placements are labeled Featured or Sponsored wherever they appear, and paying never changes a status, a rating, a review or the default order of results. Our methodology explains each step.
How Reviews Are Handled
- Every reviewer confirms their email before a review moves forward.
- A person reads every review before it is published.
- Employees cannot review their own company, and duplicate reviews are blocked.
- Reviews invited by a company are labeled as invited.
- Companies can reply publicly. They cannot pay to edit or remove a review.
How We Protect Information
- Every page and form on this site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
- Access to stored requests and account data is limited to the people who run PracticeVendors.
- We keep only what we need, and delete quote requests automatically after 180 days.
- Payments, where used, are processed by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.
What We Do Not Claim
PracticeVendors is a research and comparison platform, not a healthcare provider or a billing company. We do not handle patient records, so we do not present ourselves as HIPAA certified, and we do not display security certifications we do not hold. When a listed company shows a certification on its profile, it is because that company sent us proof. You should still confirm safeguards, contracts and business associate agreements directly with any company before you sign.
